LUKAY, Canadian Sensation, is an accomplished singer songwriter, dancer and producer signed to Chozen Stars Records and distributed by Universal Music Canada. Following the success of his previous charting hit music, Lukay now release his newest single "Just Wanna See You Dance".

HIS BACKGROUND

From an early age, Lukay’s father (also the maestro of the local church choir) made sure Lukay was surrounded by music. At the age of ten he taught himself to play bass guitar and by fourteen he was appointed “Music Director” of his local church band. After not making his high school basketball team when he was sixteen, Lukay decided to return to music, his first love.

HIS JOURNEY

In 2006, Lukay joined an R&B group where he developed his vocal skills and abilities as a songwriter and producer. The legendary Johnny Wright was the manager behind the project but due to the split of the group, the project didn’t surfaced. Lukay decided to focus on performing and songwriting and had the privilege to work alongside Grammy award winning producers like Dark Child and Will Baker. In 2010, Lukay received Gold certification from EMI Music Canada for the song “Yalla Habibi” and the song “80’s Baby” received a 2011 JUNO Award nomination for “Best R&B/Soul Recording of the Year”, which were both written by him for fellow Canadian artist Karl Wolf. After finding success as a songwriter, Lukay decided it was time to pursue his most desired dream, his singing career.

THE RISE OF HIS ARTIST CAREER

In 2011, Lukay released his debut single, “I’m In Love With Music” which reached Top 10 BDS

End of 2012, Lukay’s second single “Dance With You” was released. The track had a strong run at Canadian radio, setting him up as a real player at both the CHR and HOT AC portals. It reached #8 on Toronto’s Flow 93.5FM Top 20 Countdown and #1 on the Big Picture French media Top 10 Mediabase Gainers.
